GES was commissioned to develop plans to upgrade the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems at AARP’s headquarters at 601 E. Street, N.W., Washington, DC. The existing facility is comprised of two interconnected buildings totaling over 600,000 sf of space. Due to changes in their program mission and leadership, AARP wants to create a new, more energy efficient facility. The project includes relocating and renovating three departments, and conducting an assessment of the entire facility.
