As a result of structural damage caused from a winter storm, the existing 11,000sf Bailey’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Station was demolished and a new Fairfax County owned fire station was constructed. GES provided the MEP & FP engineering services for the new 16,000sf fire station, which includes an area for the Bailey’s Crossroads Fire Station volunteers and four apparatus bays with associated living spaces and vehicle parking. The project features a new variable refrigerant flow system, plymovent vehicle exhaust system, radiant tube gas heaters in the apparatus bay, and an emergency generator fuel system. The project received LEED Silver certification.
