University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Task Order

 

GES provided an array of engineering services on UDC’s campus on a variety of small to medium projects.  Representative tasks include:

  • Relocation of the 801 North Capital Street Community College: Renovation, relocation, and consolidation of UDC’s Community College at 801 North Capital Street to Building 41 on the Van Ness Campus.
  • Exterior Window Replacement and Security Upgrades: Electrical engineering services for upgrading the security system in Building 46.
  • Relocation of the learning Research Division/Library: A 27,000 square foot renovation to relocate the Learning Research Division/Library from Building 41 to Building 38/39. As part of the renovation all MEP systems will be replaced with energy efficient systems that are integrated into the BACnet based energy management system.
  • Upgrades to the Van Ness Campus Athletic Facilities: Provided engineering services for the conversion of grass fields to synthetic fields, new site lighting, new seating restrooms and new restroom/concessions pavilion.
  • 4250 Connecticut Avenue, Programming and Spatial Layout: Conducted a survey of the existing conditions, prepared a POR/narrative describing the changes to the MEP systems to accommodate the architect’s proposed fit out for College of Arts and Sciences and College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences.
