Global Engineering Solutions (GES) provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the renovation of a 5,000 sf library into a new inclusive innovation laboratory. The new space includes an “IT Hub” for think tank space, community activities, events, workshops, and professional facilitation. In addition, a dedicated ‘pre-incubation space” was designed to help students and minority entrepreneurs with great ideas move into new businesses.
GES surveyed the existing conditions within the new space and provided drawings of the existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection conditions; demolition drawings to facilitate the new installations; concept designs; and construction documents for the new space. The new lighting control system is by toggle switches, occupancy sensors, and dimmers. The existing electrical panels and transformer serving the space was replaced.
During construction, GES assisted the owner in providing documents for approval of governmental authorities, responded to request for information, reviewed contractor shop drawings and submittals, and prepared punch lists.
