GES provided MEP & FP engineering design and post design services for a new 22,000 sf, LEED Silver recreation center and renovation of the existing pool house. The new $16 M facility includes a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, classrooms, computer lab, lockers/showers for the pool, fitness rooms, commercial grade kitchen and senior lounge. As part of the project the pool deck, pool lining, filtration system, splash pad, and an outdoor concession were modernized.
Since all of the existing utilities were not adequately sized to support the new building, GES worked closely with the local utility companies to provide new utilities to the site. The new incoming services have been sized to not only support the current load requirements but to provide added flexibility to accommodate potential growth.
The community was engaged through various meetings and as a result the design accommodates a very active senior community, community youth programs, and youth athletic organizations.
The new multipurpose room, classrooms, and computer lab were all designed to be compatible with all the latest technology and devices.
